Students Celebrate the 100th Day of School

Students Celebrate the 100th Day of School

Students throughout MVSD celebrated the 100th day of school by reflecting on all they’ve learned and accomplished since the beginning of the school year.  Schools marked the special day noting that students are 100 days smarter, with a variety of fun activities that emphasized the number 100 including dressing up as 100-year-olds, designing and wearing hats commemorating the 100th day milestone, creating beautiful artwork using 100 items, counting to 100 and parading and dancing around the playground.

Everyone was very excited to reach this scholastic milestone and are proud of the tremendous learning that has taken place during the past 100 days.

At Cogswell School, students in Ms. Lewis’ class made hats and capes decorated with 100 stickers.  The students also enthusiastically marched through the campus, with instruments in hand, celebrating all that the Cogswell Cubs have learned during the 100 days.

“I’ve learned a lot of math,” said Daniel.  “I’m working on my multiplication tables now and I like it.”

His classmates were also celebrating achievements in reading, vocabulary and technology learning.

Payne School’s students and staff celebrated by dressing up as 100-year-olds.  The campus was full of walkers, canes and gray-haired students as they celebrated being 100 days smarter.  The transitional kindergarten, kindergarten and 1st grade students made necklaces with 100 cereal pieces and held a parade to celebrate all they’ve accomplished.

“We love celebrating the 100th day of school and all that our students have learned,” said Ruby Huesca, TK teacher at Payne School.  “We are now more than half way through the school year and the students have done an excellent job during their 100 school days and we are very proud of their efforts.  They have a lot of fun marking this milestone in the school year.”

At Twin Lakes School, the Comets were thrilled to commemorate being 100 days smarter, 100 days brighter, and 100 days full of school spirit as they dressed up like 100 year olds.

Throughout the District students were excited to see their teachers and staff members celebrating by dressing up as wonderful 100-year-olds as they incorporated math and other lessons around the 100 theme.
