MVSD's Volunteer Recogntion

MVSD's Volunteer Recogntion Event Celebrates the District's Extraordinary Volunteers

MVSD’s annual volunteer recognition celebration honored volunteers from throughout the District for their exceptional service to their schools and programs.
The Roaring 20’s themed celebration included elegant decorations created by our community liaisons, certificates of appreciation, refreshments and entertainment.
Board of Education President, Adam Carranza and district administrators were on hand to thank and congratulate the volunteers for their outstanding service.
“On behalf of the Board of Education I want to extend our heartfelt thanks for all that you do at our schools to support our students and staff,” said Carranza.
“We appreciate your dedication and partnership as we work together to ensure our students succeed,” said Lillian Maldonado French, superintendent.
The volunteers enjoyed a couple of Roaring 20’s dance numbers featuring Twin Lakes’ performing arts students from Marita D’Arnaud’s class.
MVSD’s parents provide tremendous support to the schools through assistance in classrooms, playground supervision, field trip supervision, office assistance, decorating for special events, fund raising, and participation on district and school site committees. For the past two years they have provided valuable input for the development of the District’s Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). They are an integral part of the Mountain View team and contribute greatly to the success of the District.

Administrators from each of the schools and the Head Start program acknowledged their volunteers and shared words of appreciation and gratitude for their service.
"At Miramonte we are so grateful for our wonderful volunteers who do so much to support our students and school," said Jeanette Salinas, principal. "They truly have a heart for service and their dedication benefits our school greatly."
Sean Grycel, principal of Kranz Intermediate School thanked the volunteers from his school and encouraged the elementary school volunteers to continue volunteering at the middle and intermediate schools.
"As you children move onto Kranz, Madrid or Monte Vista for their middle school years, continue to stay involved and volunteer. Your partnership and support is very important to our schools and at Kranz we appreciate our volunteers and all they contribute to our school. Their service is invaluable and benefits our students, staff and school tremendously."
Concluding the celebration, Angelica Sifuentes-Donoso, Director of Family Engagement and After School Programs, expressed her appreciation to the many volunteers.
“Congratulations to all of you and thank you for the important work you do which benefits our students greatly. Your support and assistance is vital to our schools and we appreciate your efforts immensely,” said Sifuentes-Donoso. “Your partnership in the education of our students is what makes our District so great and I encourage you to continue to volunteer and stay involved in your children’s education. Your involvement shows your children that you care and value their education. We are happy celebrate your commitment and dedication and are extremely grateful for your service,” she added.
