2022-23 School Year Begins
Posted on 08/23/2022

On August 18th, MVSD's eight schools and Children’s Center/Head Start State Preschool welcomed students for the start of the 2022-23 school year.  Aligned with the District’s mission to inspire each student to succeed every day, MVSD schools are strongly committed to supporting the academic, social and emotional growth and achievement of all students.

School campuses were full of excitement as students eagerly greeted their teachers and staff members and reunited with friends. Officers from the El Monte Police Department supported the opening of the school year by greeting students and staff, wishing them an awesome first day.

Along with core academics, programs like STEM, Project Lead the Way, AVID, SEAL, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Visual and Performing Arts, and social-emotional wellness programs will continue to equip MVSD students with the knowledge and skills to become tomorrow’s leaders and positive contributors to their community.  The District’s college-bound culture will also continue as well as its strong focus on health and wellness and family engagement.

“It was wonderful to see our students and families on the first day of school and we greatly appreciate the support and partnership of the El Monte Police Department,” said Dr. Raymond Andry, Superintendent.  “Our entire team looks forward to a great 2022-23 school year and supporting our students, families and community.”
