MVSD Celebrates School Board Recognition Month

The Mountain View School District is proud to join more than 1,000 local educational agencies in the state in recognizing the contributions of school board members by proclaiming January as School Board Recognition Month.

MVSD’s five Board of Education members, Adam Carranza, Christian Diaz, Jacqueline Saldaña, Veronica Sifuentes and Cindy Wu are among the roughly 5,100 California school board trustees, the largest group of elected officials in the state.

“In this time of unprecedented challenges in nearly every sector of life, our board members have worked tirelessly to help our district establish new ways of ensuring students continue to learn,” said Lillian Maldonado French, Superintendent.

During this challenging year, MVSD’s Board Members have worked to close the digital divide, bring all instruction online, provide food services for children even when they are not in school, coordinate efforts to direct resources to students most in need, and provide social-emotional support.  They are a vital link between the school district and the community.

“Our Board Members set the foundation and vision for the district, direct resources where they are most needed, and ensure accountability to the community by monitoring progress toward goals. Their dedication to serve is unwavering and their ultimate goal is to support, empower and inspire all of our students academically, socially and emotionally,” said French.

As former students in the District and long-time residents of El Monte, MVSD’s Board Members are passionate about serving MVSD’s students, families and community.

“I am truly honored to proclaim the month of January as School Board Recognition Month and acknowledge our five Board Members for their tremendous service and strong advocacy to our students and District,” said French. “Our community can be very proud of this team of board members, and I’m proud to partner with them as we continue our journey of educating each of our students at the highest level, and inspiring and supporting them to achieve academic success,” said French.
