MVSD Receives Bobby Salcedo Esperanza Award

MVSD Receives Bobby Salcedo Esperanza Award

The Mountain View School District was honored with the 2018 Bobby Salcedo Esperanza Award at the 15th annual Tamalada, hosted by the El Monte Promise Foundation and the El Monte Coalition of Latino Professionals, on December 13.

The Esperanza Award commemorates the life and legacy of Roberto “Bobby” Salcedo, a respected teacher and administrator who made a tremendous impact on El Monte and South El Monte students.  The award acknowledges outstanding educators and educational entities for their hard work and dedication to the students, families and community.

MVSD was awarded for its efforts and commitment to providing a college going culture on every school campus, by promoting college readiness, providing information and resources for parents and supporting students to reach their full academic potential.

Team MVSD is proud to inspire students to be future collegiate scholars and provide support for them to access their dreams.  The district’s college-bound culture is promoted among all students and families through college visitations, the El Monte Promise Foundation’s Scholars Savings Program, the AVID program, the Partnership Scholars Program, College and Career Day Events, the GEAR UP program and more.
