The Mountain View School District concluded the 2021-22 school year with many activities that included promotion ceremonies for hundreds of students promoting from Kindergarten, 5th, 6th and 8th grades in the District’s eight schools.  Family members and friends gathered at the schools to celebrate the students who are moving on in their educational journey.

MVSD’s promoting 8th graders from Monte Vista School, Parkview School and Twin Lakes School were honored with ceremonies at each site.  Along with District administrators, Board of Education members, school administrators and staff, members of the El Monte and South El Monte City Councils joined in the celebrations.

The promoting students in the class of 2022 were honored for their achievements, perseverance and resilience as they overcame the many challenges resulting from the pandemic. Their tremendous tenacity helped them reach this milestone and will continue to shape them moving forward. Heart-felt speeches by students highlighted their time at the schools, the knowledge they gained, activities they were involved in, as well as the memories they shared with their classmates.  The student speakers also expressed their gratitude to their teachers and families for their unending support and encouragement.

“We are very proud of our promoting students as they advance to their next grade level,” said Dr. Raymond Andry, Superintendent.  “Our students are provided with a strong educational foundation which has prepared them well for their future school years. Additionally, they have shown tremendous resilience the past two years navigating the challenges of the pandemic. I am confident our promoting students will continue to strive to be the best they can be.”

MVSD is very proud of the promoting 8th graders and appreciates the opportunity to nurture their academic, social and emotional growth during their elementary and middle school years.  They are encouraged to continue to work hard and reach for their dreams as they move on to high school.  Their potential is limitless and the entire Mountain View family wishes them all the best.
